About:
Studying Level 2 Performing and Production Arts at CRC provides the first steps towards a career in the creative, performance industry. On the course, you will collaborate with other emerging artists to create a professional standard company as you complete your course called JOT Ensemble.
JOT Ensemble is an exciting, in-house multidisciplinary performance company formed by the students. Standing for ‘Jack Of Trade’, the performance company aims to expose and explore a wide range of core skills and principles surrounding acting, singing and dancing through varied forms, styles and techniques. This in turn will support students in becoming well rounded and skilled performers who feel confident to take on the professional performing arts industry. JOT Ensemble works to a professional standard, expectation and leads students through the professional creative process through exciting projects to support the development of creative and technical skills. This supports students in finalising the year by creating and developing their own personal project that aims to help students find their own artistic identity and interests.
Assessment Methods and Format:
In order to complete the Level 2 UAL qualification in performing and production arts, you will need to complete a total of 9 units. Units 1-8 are formative and are marked at pass or referral based on the outcome of your presented work and tasks on deadline and performance dates. Upon completion of the 8 formative units, you will then consolidate your learning and create a personal summative project that is graded at a pass, merit or distinction. This summative unit 9 result determines your overall grade for the qualification. All 9 units are collated into 5 projects.
All 9 units previously explained are collated into 5 projects that are both practical and theoretical. Within them, there will be assignments and projects that will put your new or developed skills to the test. Each project you complete will be heavily weighted towards practical outcomes but also require you to confirm and demonstrate your understanding through theoretical tasks. The projects studied on the course are outlined below, please click on the projects below for more detailed information
