Trapped
My piece is all about being in isolation and being cut off from the rest of the world and civilization. It is about what might happen if lockdown restrictions are dropped. If there will be a second peak of covid-19.
This piece was inspired by the idea of being trapped inside and not being able to go out and see friends and family. It was also partly inspired by people who were “panic buying” food and supplies. My piece is set in a bunker after we have had a second peak of the covid-19. The death toll has spiralled out of control, and hospitals all over the world are packed with those infected. Therefore people have been forced down into bunkers.
The first section is when everyone has just arrived in the bunkers. The main character is loving life in the bunker. There is plenty of food, and sports’ equipment, there is something for everyone. The second section is when everyone is getting bored and fed up. Finally the third is when everyone starts to panic because the food has run out. It has an element of how people might degenerate as certain things become scarce and looks at natural, futuristic feel for the piece.
In one way, it is good to be working at home (especially for my piece) as I could work at the times that my piece we set at so for example at 1:45 am it will be dark. And when you are working outside of your house, it normally gets light before you wake up, and gets dark after you go home. However, there can be distractions from your other family members and streets. I found working at home hard because I wasn’t able to talk in person to my friends and teachers. In addition, when you're around your peers, they can prompt and tell you how to make it better.
