Anya Cotterell

In my first piece, I had to reflect on people’s attitude and personality in World War 1. Due to previous performances, I already knew quite a bit about the war ,so this helped me massively.

My World War 1 piece was very interesting to make and very simple but clean. I made sure I had a posh accent and that it was as accurate as possible for the video of my piece. I recorded a notebook and had the book moving slightly both on my performances was looking at how people would of coped in 1900s and how people cope now with this global pandemic. When doing my first performance I stuck to a script and only improvised a little bit.

My second performance was modern and was based on two teenagers missing each other. I played with accents in this performance. This was very interesting and fun to play with. I had to edit my work to a bigger extent then I normally would because I had to edit a FaceTime template in. This was crucial to ensure that it was clear that the character was on call to someone. I had to write out a script for both of these characters and learn them. I also improvised, as this is something I wanted to work on and being able to work on this in my performance really helped me. In both performances I had to have a strong character and know what I need to do to show how this character's acts. Instead of just doing one video, I thought it would be better to have two and do a compare so that whoever watching finds it more interesting
