Muhammad Kweider
Hello my name is Muhammad Kwieder. I am 22 years old and I am currently finishing up my Extended Diploma in Performing and Production Arts. Over the past two years I have learnt so much about myself as well as the acting industry. My confidence has improved massively to an extent that I now have no issue acting in front of an audience or even film myself on camera whereas before I started the course I would never have the courage or confidence to do either. This course has truly been an amazing experience and one I will never forget and always be grateful to have.
My piece acts as a sequel to a scene I was working on before the COVID 19 outbreak. The scene was called Fired which tells the story of an individual dealing with the fact that they had just been fired whilst fanatisising about confronting their boss about the incident. I decided to base my monologue on the aftermath of that scene where my character has hit rock bottom and he has completely given up on life. My first inspiration for creating my monologue was the COVID 19 incident, however I didn’t want to base my story on that due to the fact that it seemed like a very obvious choice and I figured I could think more outside the box and be a little more creative. I also thought it would be a good idea to pay homage to Love and Information since I never got to perform it so wanted to at least continue a small part of its story. When it comes to working at home, for this particular task I didn’t really find it challenging , in fact I found it to be quite the opposite as the isolation has helped me get more into character as well as really set the scene for my monologue. Now that I have basically finished this course I aim to further my knowledge and experience in the acting industry. I plan to accomplish this by continuing my acting classes which have also benefited me greatly by helping me step further out of my comfort zone. Aside from that I also aim to start looking around any productions that are happening around my area and start trying to get involved with them. Due to the COVID 19 incident I unfortunately have to put that on hold, however until it is safe again I have been passing the time by watching online videos regarding acting and getting into character as well as finding monologues online and performing them to family members and receiving feedback on how to evolve and do better than I initially did.
